The little village of Kulusuk
Greenland is home to a hardy Inuit population of 56,000, spread sparsely along the east and west coasts. These charming and hospitable people continue to live a traditional life of fishing and sealing in what is one of the world’s harshest but most beautiful environments. The little village of Kulusuk is situated on the island Kulusuk in East Greenland. There you will have the opportunity to experience firsthand the ancient Inuit culture, best reflected in the beautiful craftsmanship of the carvings done in tusk and bone. From Hotel Kulusuk (near the airport) it is 45 minute walk to the engaging Kulusuk village where we can stroll about and meet some of the 360 local residents and view their quality crafts. We recommend that all travelers wear good walking boots as this tour requires around 6 km/3,7 miles round-trip walk.
